Can I, as a foreign national, buy property in Austria?
Yes. As an EU citizen you can buy property in Austria. Rules apply per state and municipality, especially around a Zweitwohnsitz. Marielle explains exactly what's possible in your situation in a personal conversation.
What is a Zweitwohnsitz and may I buy one?
A Zweitwohnsitz is a second home you don't use as your main residence. Not every municipality allows it and rules differ per region. That's why I check in advance which properties have a valid Zweitwohnsitz status — so you avoid surprises.
Can I rent out my property (buy-to-let)?
In many cases yes, and it can deliver an attractive yield — often via touristic rental. Conditions depend on property, location and permit. I help you find properties with rental potential and lay out the numbers clearly.
What additional costs come with a purchase?
Besides the purchase price, expect property transfer tax, land-register registration, notary and agency commission, among others. I give you a transparent overview in advance so you know exactly where you stand.
What are common mistakes when buying in Austria?
The biggest: buying without checking the second-home and rental rules, and underestimating the additional costs. With guidance in your own language you avoid costly misunderstandings — that's exactly what I'm here for.
